01
Service overview
Neklatura provides a board game rental (hire) service in the United Kingdom. We
lend physical board games for fixed periods. We do not sell the games we lend, and
ownership always remains with us.
02
Applicability of these Terms
These Terms apply to every rental made through neklatura.org. By placing an order
you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Rental
Journey & Game Care page.
03
Customer eligibility
You must be 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom, able to enter a binding
contract, and provide accurate contact, delivery, and payment details.
04
RENTAL ORDERS
You place an order by selecting a game, choosing a
rental period, choosing collection or delivery, and
completing checkout. Prices and any deposit are shown
before you confirm.
05
GAME AVAILABILITY
All rentals depend on availability. Occasionally a game
may become unavailable after ordering; if so, we’ll offer
an alternative or a full refund.
06
RENTAL PERIODS
We offer three fixed periods: 1 week
(7 days), 2 weeks (14 days), and 1
month (30 days).
07
RENTAL PRICES
Prices are shown per game and per
period in GBP and include VAT
where applicable. Indicative pricing:
£6 to £13. The exact price is
confirmed at checkout.
08
PAYMENTS
Payment is taken securely at
checkout by card. We do not store
full card details.
09
Security deposits
Some higher-value games require a refundable deposit (typically £15–£40), shown at checkout and held as a
card pre-authorisation. It is released once the game is returned complete and undamaged, normally within 5
working days of our checks.
*A deposit is security only and does not cap or replace your rights or our proportionate charges.
10
ORDER CONFIRMATION
We confirm your order by email, setting out the game,
period, dates, price, deposit, and collection or delivery
details.
11
FORMATION OF AGREEMENT
The rental agreement forms when we send your order
confirmation.
12
Collection and delivery arrangements
You may collect free from our Manchester unit during business hours, or choose courier delivery to a UK mainland
address for £4.95 each way. Return is by prepaid label or arranged courier collection.
13
RENTAL DURATION
Your period starts on the day you receive or collect the
game and ends on the due date. Return is treated as
complete when we collect the game or it is
postmarked back to us.
14
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY
While a game is in your care you are responsible for
keeping it complete, clean, and undamaged beyond
normal play, and for returning it on time.
15
CHECKING GAMES
On receipt, check the box against the enclosed
component checklist and report any missing or
damaged items within 48 hours. Issues reported in
this window are logged against us, not you.
16
PROPER USE AND CARE
Please use games as intended, keep food and drink
away, handle cards and boards carefully, and store
components safely between sessions. Full guidance is
on our Rental Journey & Game Care page.
17
Rental extensions
Request an extension before your due date. If the
game isn’t reserved by another customer, we’ll
extend it and charge the extra time pro rata at
the weekly rate.
18
Late returns
If a game is returned late without an agreed
extension, we charge £2 per day, per game,
capped at that game’s monthly rental price. We’ll
remind you before charges apply.
19
MISSING COMPONENTS
If a component is missing on return, we charge
only the cost of that specific part where a
replacement is available. We charge the full
replacement value only where the missing piece
makes the game unplayable and no spare exists.
20
LOST GAMES
If an entire game can’t be returned, we charge its
current replacement cost, less any deposit held.
We’ll confirm the figure before charging.
21
DAMAGED GAMES
Normal wear is expected and never charged. For accidental damage, we charge the proportionate repair
or part-replacement cost, or the replacement value only where the game is beyond use.
22
ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES
We assess returns against the checklist and the condition on dispatch. Any proposed charge is explained
to you in writing, with the reason and amount, and you have an opportunity to respond before we take
payment. Charges are always proportionate to actual loss.
23
RETURN PROCEDURES
Use the checklist to confirm all pieces are present, repack neatly, and return by your arranged method on
or before the due date.
24
Order cancellations
You may cancel before a game is dispatched or collected
for a full refund. Cancellation rights for online orders are
set out in section 26.
25
Refund conditions
Eligible refunds are made to your original payment
method, normally within 14 days of us agreeing the
refund or receiving the returned game. Deposits are
refunded separately after return checks.
26
Consumer rights — cancellation of distance contracts
Because rentals are agreed online, you have a 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts (Information,
Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, starting the day the agreement is made.
Placing an order, paying, or receiving a game does not by itself remove this right.
If you cancel before the game is dispatched or collected, you receive a full refund including standard delivery.
Because rental is a service you can begin during the cancellation period, we only start supplying it within the 14 days if you expressly ask us to (for example by requesting delivery straight away). If you then cancel after supply has begun, you may owe a proportionate amount for the service already provided up to the point you told us you were cancelling. You do not lose the right to cancel simply because supply has started.

27
Consumer rights — Consumer Rights Act 2015
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, games we hire to you must be as described,
of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose, and our service must be carried out with
reasonable care and skill. If a game arrives faulty, incomplete, or not as described,
contact us for a repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate. These rights are in
addition to your cancellation rights above and cannot be excluded.
28
Complaints procedure
If something’s gone wrong, email info@neklatura.org.
We’ll acknowledge your complaint within a few
working days and aim to resolve it fairly and promptly.
If we can’t resolve it between us, you may pursue your
statutory consumer rights.
29
Intellectual property
The Neklatura name, website content, and original text
are our property or licensed to us and may not be
copied without permission.
30
Third-party trademarks
Board game titles, artwork, and trademarks belong to
their respective publishers and rights holders. We rent
genuine physical copies and use these names only to
identify the games available; no endorsement or
affiliation is implied.
31
Website availability
We aim to keep the site available but can’t guarantee
uninterrupted access and may suspend it for
maintenance or reasons beyond our control.
32
Limitation of liability
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be
unlawful to do so — including for death or personal
injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your
statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not
liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable
or that arise from your misuse of a rented game.
33
Force majeure
We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events
beyond our reasonable control, such as extreme
weather, courier disruption, or supply failures. We’ll let
you know and offer a suitable alternative or refund
where appropriate.
34
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and
Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of
England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern
Ireland, you may bring proceedings in your local
courts.
